Irtrans Wifi firmware upd - how 2 get it?

Hi,
after over a year I "resumed" my iRTrans out of the shipping box and tried to configure it. Serial no. is 46080 and fw version is: W6.04.51
I can't access the module if my network is encripted (WPA-PSK no server); I only succeeded accessing the module if wireless encription is disabled. I know it sound strange...
I heard is a new firmware for Irtran WiFi: how can I get it and upgrade my module?
Many thanks
Francesco

Hi,
in general WPA encryption should also work with older FW versions.

Anyways, an update might make sense. To get the update simply send us an email to info@irtrans.de.
For the update we need to know the exact HW Version of your device (from the type label).

Hi,
in the meantime we do have a firmware update for the WiFi transmitter module. It should fix all connection problems.

To get it please send us an Email to info@irtrans.de.

We will need to know the exact hardware version of the device.

It looks like i have almost the same problem.
With encryption enabled im getting al kind of error codes and can't connect to my network.

When i turn off all encryption, it connects just fine.

SSID : xxxxxx Error:9 / -256 or
SSID : xxxxxx Error: 16 / -256 or
SSID : xxxxxx Error: 6 / -13

Its driving me nuts.
IMy router is defaut configured with mixed mode (B/G/N)
Channel Auto

I've tried setting a channel ( so not on automatic), i tried channels 10 and 11.
No luck.

I've tried making the ecryption shorter.
No Luck

I've tried setting the speed to 11Mbps and to 54Mbps
No Luck

Ive tried setting Auth Mode to Autmatic, open and shared.
No luck

Speed is on auto
S. Power is on 17dBm
Mode: Infrastructure

Anyone got a clue?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Kind Regards,
Michiel

The irconfig tool shows it in the device list.

The irserver/irtranstray shows it in the diagnostics window.

Hi All,

I have the same problems with my irtrans wifi module, when I set on my wireless router the encryption (WPA2/AES) and router set in mode B/G/N, the irtrans wifi module gets an IP address but is not accessable (ping or tcp commands).
When I leave the encryption the same but change on the wireless router the mode to B/G , the irtrans wifi module start responding on ping and tcp requests.

IRServer64 Version 6.08.14
[ 0]: IRTrans WiFi : IR VER: W6.08.10 ETH VER: R4.3.6 SN: 54730

I looks it have something to do with the combination WPA2 and Mode N.

best regards,
Marco

Hi,
those FW Versions are current.

So far we do not know of any specific problem especially with WPA2.

However, there are some routers that support hybrid encryption with WPA2 + WEP. There are sometimes problems with that.

Furthermore you might try to use either 802.11N or G and not the combination mode.
