Bought a USB irtrans unit a few months ago and have only just got around to setting it up. I bought the COD-RCV option without realising that it *replaced* the built-in reciever I would need to use the unit for receiving once it was set up. No idea how I missed that detail seeing as it is clearly spelt out on the product page.

Just wondering what my options are. Now that I have captured all my remotes I need my receiver to work at distances greater than 1m. Can I use an external IR LED or do I have to replace (desolder) the IR receiver with a different one on the circuit board:?:

For an USB Device the only way is to replace the IR Receiver.
